The Orderhive Inventory Management Software solution is a web-based system set up on a monthly subscription fee with different tiers depending on the number of channels, users, and features needed. It is best suited to smaller distributors, wholesalers, and online retailers. It’s distinction is the ability to track inventory across multiple online sales channels, which is becoming increasingly important in the digital age. It includes both order tracking and customer invoice creation, as well as real-time business insights through its analytics and reporting features. Its CRM app also allows users to capture customer information and orders from multiple channels but stores it all in one place. Orderhive specifically offers integration with such online stores as Amazon and eBay, as well as integration with a variety of eCommerce solutions, including BigCommerce, Magento, and Shopify.
Pros
A number of users highlight just how easy it is to use Orderhive, even if you don’t have much technical knowledge of computers or software operation. They also note that the array of features is not only comprehensive, but that the system is surprisingly customizable to meet unique business requirements. Other users seem particularly impressed with Orderhive’s ability to integrate a user’s own online retail operation with sites such as eBay and Amazon. Even when users were unsure of how to proceed with such integration, they note that the customer support function got them through it with no problems and very few hassles. Other users note the convenience of its pay-as-you-go subscription model, which is especially important since the company only offers a free 15-day trial.
Cons
Interestingly enough, I could find no negative user comments about Orderhive, period. Part of that may have to do with the fact that the offering is still quite new. Developed by India-based mobile app company OpenXcell, Orderhive was only launched in 2013. This means its still making its way into the market on a large scale. As of this writing, Orderhive only has a little over 1,100 customers. However, it seems important to note, as its website claims, that these are happy customers.
A year after launching Orderhive, a major overhaul was undertaken that by all accounts greatly improved what was already a good offering. The overhaul included a re-designed dashboard with greater visual appeal, easier navigation, improved metrics and infographics, and new features. Among the new features introduced were creation of partial shipments, customer invoice creation, a multi-currency feature that allows you to communicate in the currency of the customer, but once the order is processed, it is converted into your base currency. The new-and-improved dashboard gives easy access to a variety of real-time key performance indicators, including return rates, top customers, top selling products, high stock products, total orders, total cost of goods, and average order size.
As a brand new entry into the inventory management software market, Orderhive appears to be making all the right moves. It will be interesting to see how it fares in a fiercely competitive global environment.
