In the market for medical software solutions, MediTouch has developed a robust electronic health record (EHR) that features a touchscreen user interface will at the same time being entirely web-based. The pricing is based on the number of providers using the system and comes in the form of a monthly subscription fee, which includes all support and training.
Pros
Most users find MediTouch very easy to work with, and also appreciate the extent to which it can be customized to fit a unique practice. Many users have also given high marks to the MediTouch support team. Many noted how pleasantly surprised they were at the ease of implementation, overall use, and the billing side of things as well.
Cons
Several have noted that the system is not specialty-specific, which means you’ll have to put the time customizing it for yourself. Other users note that while being able to upload photos is great, having those photos be limited to a certain set of dimensions may result in some images betting stretched. A number of users have noted that the pricing structure, because it’s based on the number of providers regardless of how much or how little a provider uses the system, it can be ridiculous how much it costs of have a weekend part-time provider on your staff. Enough users have complained of system slowness to cause many to wonder if the parent company has a bandwidth problem. Others have noted that while support is good, you might be sitting on a hold for a while before they can get to you. Others have noted that the customization process, which is often needed, can be rather cumbersome and time-consuming. Thus, while there’s not a big up-front cash outlay for software, there is a big up-front time investment to make it something that’s going to really serve your practice. A few users noted that there cannot be more than one user updating a patient chart at any given moment. Some users noted they were not impressed with the system as it functions on an iPad.
While most users are satisfied with MediTouch functionality and support, there are a number of items that make it labor-intensive to implement and customize.
