Bizmatics Inc. is a healthcare and medical software solutions company that produces PrognoCIS EMR. This cloud-based electronic medical record (EMR) software system includes practice management as well. With PronoCIS, your practice can become compliant with all aspects of HiTEC, more commonly referred to now as Meaningful Use Stage 2 (MU2).
Users who pursue MU2 enjoy a dashboard that highlights all the documents that need to be tracked along the way. PrognoCIS is a scalable solution that can serve a single practitioner or large clinics with multiple specialties. Templates within the system can be customized, as can workflows to make the most sense for your practice. Any specialty-specific library needed comes standard with PrognoCIS.
Pros
The quality of training and support offered to PrognoCIS customers receives high praise for the most part. PrognoCIS users seem to be very appreciative of how customizable the software is in order to fit the unique needs and requirements of a practice. Several users also noted that the customization process is not as painful as they feared it might be. Other users highlight the alert system that keeps you notified about patients’ needs.
Cons
While the software bills itself as scalable to any size, several users seemed to disagree with that assessment, saying it’s really best suited to smaller practices. Also, getting everything to integrate can take more time than you might expect (such as labs and radiology interfaces), but once it’s all set up, these users find it was well worth the effort because of how easy the software is to use. There are relatively few things that users complain about, but there are some. A few noted that adding some kinds of information seems to take a lot of different steps, and it would be nice if certain information would carry over from visit to visit, such as current medications. Several users noted that there are occasional server outages that make the system unavailable, which can be disconcerting when it happens in the middle of workday, while other users noted that certain hard drives may not be sufficiently compatible with the system, which slows things up considerably. When it comes to technical support, a few users noted that those staff can be difficult to work with, difficult to reach when needed due to time differences (support staff are either on West coast or India). Some users express that they felt over-sold up-front and somewhat let down when they need support. At least one user noted that a good enhancement would be allowing prescriptions to be sent through the system, as switching gears on busy days wastes time. Another noted that sending/receiving emails between providers and referring doctors would be nice. A number of users noted that overall it feels like the software was developed by engineers with no medical background, which comes out in the wording and syntax on template.
While most users like PrognoCIS for how easy it is to implement and use, there are varying opinions on the support, and an overall feel it was developed without enough medical knowledge.
