If what your small-to-midsize business needs is a solution for streamlining less-than-truckload (LTL) shipments, you may be hard-pressed to find a better package than Freightview, according to its many satisfied customers. This new supply chain management software system (founded in 2013) may be the “new kid on the block,” but companies that work with multiple carriers are finding it irresistible.
What it does is streamline your freight quoting, booking, tracking and reporting. If the way your company currently handles its shipping is to log onto multiple carrier sites to get quotes and shipping estimates, you know how time-consuming that process can be. Freightview takes all of that information (negotiated LTL rates) and puts it in one place for easy access and comparison. It also allows users to prepare bills of lading, schedule pickups, print the shipping labels, and track all shipments. Reports look great as either charts and graphs or spreadsheets. Users also develop a single, unified address book to prevent the need for entering shipping data multiple times. Users can take advantage of a 30-day free trial to explore Freightview’s functionality.
Pros
Many users note that getting Freightview up and running is a lightning-fast process. The fact that it is a web-based system with a monthly subscription fee that can be accessed from any device, whether Windows, Mac, or mobile, makes it possible to add an unlimited number of users. Many users note how they save considerable time in the shipping process by not having to log onto multiple carrier websites (and remember all those different logon credentials), and also save money on shipping costs by being able to so easily compare rates and quotes. More than one user has noted that calculating whether or not you’ll get a good return on investment (ROI) with this package is relatively easy – if your savings in shipping are less than Freightview’s monthly subscription fee, it’s a no-brainer. Several users have noted that Freightview listens to what its customers need, and then follow through by making every effort to include those features in updates on an ongoing basis.
Cons
There are very few drawbacks to Freightview according to its customers. When there are “complaints” they are more likely very specific items that the customers are also confident will be addressed as the company seems eager to please and takes all feedback very seriously. Some of the features customers want are already in beta mode and will be rolled out in the near future. It’s also worth noting that in no cases were such features or functionalities “deal-breakers.” The features that are still being improved include shipment cancellations, edits to bills of lading, and shipment tracking. Also, some customers have noted that the unified address book still needs some tweaking in terms of deleting or editing information to avoid multiple records for the same customer.
Keep in mind that Freightview doesn’t get you your negotiated rates, so you want to make sure you’ve the best rates possible before setting it up for your company – you want to be comparing the best information from the start. It’s rare to come across a supply chain management software solution with so few drawbacks from the customer perspective, but Freightview seems to have accomplished it.
